Kent, Oh. - The Wheeling Indoor Track and Field team competed on day one of the Kent State Doug Raymond Invitational.
Five cardinals went and represented Wheeling at Kent State in their respective events. Autumn Kerchner got the day started off for the day at the Women's High Jump. She finished the day off with a jump of 1.50 meters to play her in 51st. Taven Mayo and Marceline Tote followed with the Men's Long Jump. Mayo had a jump of 5.40 meters to place him in 25th, and Tote followed behind in 26th with a jump of 5.27 meters. Kris Vigars and Lucinda Banks were the only Cardinals on the track for the day. Vigars ran the Men's 200 meter and placed 50th with a run time of 24.43, and Banks ran the Women's 5000 meter and placed one spot off the podium in ninth with a run time of 21:09.80.
Eight more Cardinals will join the Doug Raymond Inv. tomorrow for day two, while three head for the University of Michigan for their invitational. Events at Kent State will start at 11 AM tomorrow, and the first events for wheeling will be at 12:30 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
