Wheeling, W. Va. - After playing through their three tournaments to start the season, the Wheeling University Golf team heads to Avalon Lakes for the 2021 Mountain East Conference (MEC) Championships beginning Monday. The three-day event will allow Wheeling's women's golfers to compete against the best in the conference and put everything they have been working on to the test.
Leading the way for the group is junior

In her latest performance, the junior shot a 174 at the Michael Corbett Invitational at Gannon University. Another Cardinal looking to make an impact in her final MEC contest is senior
Olivia Zampedro. Zampedro has finished in the top three for Wheeling in all three of her events this season, and wrapped up the regular season with a 174, tying with her fellow teammate Holzopfel for 24
th at the event. Zampedro will be competing in her final MEC match-up and is hoping to go out with a bang and put together her best performance of the season at the MEC Championships. Also competing at the 2021 Fall MEC Championships are freshman
Nicole Lincicome and junior
Kylee Tolliver. Tolliver is coming off of her best performance of the year with a 177, and Lincicome wrapped up her regular season with a 180.
