Frederick, Zampedro earn WGCA academic honors

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (June 29) - The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has named Bailey Frederick (Fairmont, W.Va./East Fairmont) and Olivia Zampedro (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic) All-American Scholars for the 2019-20 season announced the organization.

A total of 1,401 women's collegiate golfers recognized the honor.  The minimum cumulative GPA for WGCA All-American Scholar is a 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale).

Frederick was recently named All-MEC Second Team after she placed seventh overall at the MEC Fall Championships held at the Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, West Virginia. After carding rounds of 83 and 91 to open play, Frederick shot up the leaderboard with a final round-77 to finish among the top-10 (251) and earn second-team laurels.

Zampedro placed 22nd overall at the championships. She opened with a first round 88, before turning in cards of 94 and 95 to close out the event.
