The Wheeling University Women's Golf team got the second half of their 2025/26 season underway today with day one of the 2026 Pawley's Island Beach Bash. The Lady Cardinals travelled down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the 2 day event and currently sit in 8th place out of 11 teams.

Brielle Milhoan set the pace for the Cardinals in the early going, keeping the big numbers off the scorecard in her front 9. The highlight of the day for the Sophomore would be a birdie on hole 15, her 6th hole of the day. After struggling slightly on her back 9, Brielle would come home with a 15-over 87 to sit in 40th going into the final round.

Senior Ella Keffer would continue her consistent form, even with some early troubles in her round. She would par 9 of the 18 holes, with only 1 double bogey, to finish with a round of 82 to put her in a tie for 19th and in with a shot of another top 10 tomorrow.

Freshmen Ivana Alvarez and Kaily Banal would round out the scoring 4 for Wheeling, with them both playing the first rounds of their collegiate careers. The two played nowhere near their best, but kept their cool to finish their respective rounds strong and keep the team within reach of the cluster of teams ahead of them. Banal notably bettered her front 9 score by 10 shots to finish with a 94, whilst Alvarez went 46, 43 for 89. 

The Wheeling University Women's Golf team will start the final round tomorrow morning at 8:14 AM eastern.
