Schedule Change: Findlay Spring Invitational Moved to Sunday/Monday Due to Weather

Wheeling, W. Va. - After opening the season in Myrtle Beach, North Carolina, the Wheeling University Women's Golf team will head back south for their second tournament of the spring season. They will travel to Richmond, Kentucky for the Findlay Spring Invitational, with weather pushing up the event a day earlier. First round action will now be played on Sunday, March 15th, with round two being played Monday, March 16th due to weather in the Kentucky Area.

The Wheeling Women's Golfers started their season on March 9th and 10th when they traveled to Pawley's Island Beach Bash to get experience against top teams around the conference. In a field of 63 golfers, the Cardinals were able to place three in the top 50 of the event, and finished 10th in the field. They were powered by a strong day one of competition that saw the team sit eighth overall while putting two in the top 40 of the event. The Cardinals shot a team score of 352 on the day, and had their top golfer finish 19th overall in the field. On the second day of competition, the Cardinals saw some challenges on the course, shooting a 381, but had one golfer drop strokes off their day one score. It rounded out their first spring tournament of the year as they gain experience on the course.

The Wheeling University Women's Golf team returns to action on Sunday, March 15th, when they play round one of the Findlay Spring Invitational.
