Fairmont, W. Va. – The Senator Larry Edgell Invitational wrapped up on Tuesday with the final 18 holes of the event. The Wheeling University Women's Golf team sent their two golfers to the course and the Cardinals finished strong in the individual portion of the event. The Cardinals would finish with one top 20 finisher at the event as they continue their run towards the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Women's Golf Championships.
Leading the way was senior Ella Keffer, who finished the final 18 holes with a score of 83 and finished 14th overall with a two-day score of 161. After a strong start on the front nine on day one, Keffer would add three strokes to her score off the bat and would look to come from behind. He would hit par three times on the front nine, but sat at +7 as she turned to the back nine of the event. After hitting par on hole 10, Keffer would add five strokes over the next four holes. She would finish the day strong, hitting par on three of the final four holes, and finished with a +6 on the back nine. It was a five-stroke addition to her day one score, but it was still enough to help her finish in the top 20 of the event. She would finish 12th among her MEC competition and looks to bounce back with one more tournament this weekend before heading to the MEC Women's Golf Championships.
The other Cardinal to hit the course on the day was sophomore Brielle Milhoan, who dropped six strokes off her day one score to lead the way. She shot an 84 for the round and would finish 22nd overall at the event. Milhoan would add two strokes to her score right off the bat, but was able to calm things down. She hit three-straight pars to follow up, but would finish the front nine with a score of +7. It was the back nine where she saw her biggest improvement, dropping
