Mills Claims Third, Cardinals Fourth at Cumberland Trail Classic

PATASKALA, Ohio
 – On the power of the second-best Sunday round, the Cardinals' Kenaida Mills grabbed sole possession of third place. Wheeling Jesuit finished fourth in the team standings at the Cumberland Trail Women's Golf Classic.
 
After an opening round of 76, Mills cut four strokes off the total for a second round 72 and weekend 148 total. She was only behind Lincoln Memorial's top two of Dominika Czudkova and Lisa Malherbe, who competed in a one-hole playoff for individual medalist, by five strokes (148 to 143).
 
Behind the top two finishers, Lincoln Memorial rode it to first place, 22 strokes better than the University of Charleston (599 to 621). Notre Dame College was third (631) and WJU was fourth (642) of the eight-team field.
 
Leah Bauman was the Cardinals golfer in 20th place with a 160 total. Kailey Pettit and Marci Schneider tied for 29th with scores of 167. Karley Morrell rounded out the team placers in 46th (185).
 
WJU will head to Roanoke, W.Va., starting next Sunday and Monday, Oct. 1-2, at the Mountain East Conference Fall Tournament.
