Cardinals Trio and Team Move up Field on Michael Corbett Final Day

 – A marked Cardinals team improvement over the two-day event. Wheeling Jesuit saw three women's golf players and the team move up the Michael Corbett Fall Classic field on Monday.
 
Kenaida Mills paced WJU for the second outing this fall as she rose nine spots to 16th, while her Cardinals improved to 12th in the 23-team field. The WJU team improved 12 strokes on Monday's second day to a 331 after it has a 343 Sunday round for a 674 total.
 
In the team standings, Ashland claimed the title by six strokes, 623-629, over Kutztown, which led after one day.
 
Mills finished three strokes from her second top 10 finish. The junior fired a round of 77 after she posted an 82 in the opener for a 159.
 
Leah Bauman was consistent with an 87 and 86 for her 173 and 62nd placing. Senior Marci Schneider rose five spots to 68th with her Monday 85 after an 89 first round and 174 final.
 
Karley Morell moved up 18 places to 74th with WJU's second-best round of the event of 83 on Monday and a two-day 176. Freshman Karley Pettit rounded out the Cardinals with a 180.
 
WJU has some time off before it plays at the Ohio Dominican Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23-24.
