WHEELING, W.Va - After a week of resting after earning the first win of the season, the Wheeling University Men's Rugby team hosts Kutztown University.  

The Cardinals picked up their first win of the season against University of Indiana. Wheeling capitalized on scoring multiple Try's and a couple Penalty Kick's to route the Hoosier's 39-24. 

Senior Shadreck Mandaza looks to build off his best performance of the young season scoring 20 points on four Try's. It was a career-high in tries for a game for Mandaza, after he missed most of the 2025 season due to injury. Mandaza leads the Cardinals with five tries so far this fall, and is the only Cardinal currently with multiple tries this season, and he looks to build on that success as the season goes on.  

Wheeling also expects to get another good performance from senior Taku Musingwini scoring 12 points on five kicks. For the season, he has put together a 4-7 (.571) effort on conversion kicks this season, while going a perfect 4-4 on conversion kicks. He sits second on the team with 20 points through the 15's season, and will continue to be a consistent force in the kicking game. 

The Cardinals face the Golden Bears for the first time this season. Wheeling has been successful against Kutztown in the last few seasons going 9-0-1 since 2022.  

In the last matchup the Cardinals pulled off the close 17-10 victory in Boyd, MD, after splitting both contests in Charlotte, NC. during 7's season.  

The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Bishop Schmitt Field.
