Allendale, MI. – With less than a week before the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Wheeling University Indoor Track & Field team prepared with two meets in the final weekend. They competed in the first of those two meets on Friday night when they traveled to Grand Valley State University for the GVSU Big Meet. The Cardinals had a Provo Mark performance to highlight a big day for the Cardinals Track athletes.
The biggest event of the day was the 200-Meter Dash, with the Cardinals having success in both the morning and the afternoon. The fastest time came in the afternoon run, as freshman
Ibrahim Fall competed with the top 30 runners at the event. Fall set a PR, running a time of 21.69 seconds, and finished 7th in the field. The time was enough to hit the NCAA Provo Mark as Fall became the second Men's athlete to hit the Provo Mark this season. In the morning session,
Joshua Boehm competed in the same 200-Meter event and picked up the lone first place finish of the day. He ran a PR time of 21.89 seconds to win the event, and finished .29 seconds ahead of Grand Valley State's Henry Kennedy as he finished out a strong day.
As the afternoon events began, the 60-Meter Hurdle kicked things off with junior
Moses Koroma continuing his strong effort. In the preliminaries, Koroma took third place at 8.04 seconds, finishing .04 seconds off pace from the leader. As he has done all season, he came back even stronger in the finals running a time of 7.94 seconds as he took third overall in the event. The 60-Meter Dash was up next as freshman
Calvin Blunt led the way with a 31st place finish, running a time of 7.09 seconds. It was a big day for the track athletes as they wrapped up a strong day against tough competition.
The Wheeling University Men's Indoor Track & Field team returns to action on Saturday, February 10th, when they take on the SPIRE Collegiate Games beginning at 10 AM. Follow along with Live Results by clicking
