WHEELING, WVa. - #6 nationally ranked Wheeling Jesuit Volleyball hosted the Mountain Lions on Friday night as the Cardinals continued Mountain East Conference play.

Jessica Thobe got the Cardinals off to a flying start with three of the first four kills of the game. Seven different WJU players got into the scoring mix as the Cardinals led by as many as 15 points in the set. Jesuit was led by

Emma Schleucher, who each had five kills in the set. WJU finished the set with a .353 hitting percentage to Concord's -.057.

Haley Kindall scored the first three kills in the second set as the Cardinals raced out to a 17-6 lead. The Cardinals would score the next 8 unanswered points to win the set going away 25-6. After two sets, Schleucher led all competitors on the court with a .900 hitting percentage.
Schleucher would go on to hit an impressive .667 with 12 total kills and five digs.
Jessica Thobe finished with 10 kills and nine digs. Kindall ended with eight kills and four digs. Once again,
Makenzie Ripley was stellar in the backcourt with 10 digs, while
Andrea Thobe set up her teammates 34 times on the day and added eight digs.
Concord University could not figure out the Cardinal offensive attack in the third set as WJU finished off the Mountain Lions in three straight sets, 25-10, 25-6, and 25-9. WJU outhit the Mountain Lions .470 to -.044 on the night.
The win today improves the volleyball program's record to 12-1 and 3-0 in the Mountain East Conference.
The Cardinals travel to Canton, Ohio for a tri-match with Saginaw Valley and Malone University tomorrow at 3:30 pm and 6pm. WJU will then return home next Friday October 3
rd against Fairmont State and then will host a tri-match of their own on Saturday October 4
th against Shepherd University and Alderson Broaddus.
