PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – The Wheeling Jesuit men's lacrosse team continued their undefeated streak, taking down Ohio Valley University 17-3 on the road Saturday afternoon.
The ECAC's top-ranked Cardinals remain perfect so far on the season at 6-0 and with the win, could potentially stand to improve on their current #12 national ranking.
"We got off to a slower start than we were hoping for," said WJU head coach
Kevin Dugan of the Cardinals 14-point win. "We played with a lot more focus and intensity in the second half."
WJU senior
Tyler Johnson (Columbus, Ohio) scored five goals on nine shots to lead all scorers.
Tyler Wickett and
Aaron Gutentag both added a pair of goals for WJU. The rest of the Cardinal's points came from singles spread across the team. All told, 11 different Cards found the back of the net in the lopsided victory.

Tyler Johnson had a big day making hard north south dodges at the goal. He played with a tough and determined attitude," added Dugan.
Joe Amsler totaled nine saves in goal in the three quarters of play he put in before
Kellen McMahon and
Tim Langhorne gave tagged him out.
The Cardinals now turn their attention to the ECAC's #3 Lake Erie College for a road match scheduled for Wednesday, March 26
th at 7pm.
"We know we are going to need to bring it for 60 minutes against Lake Erie on Wed night," Dugan added. "They will be our toughest game to date and our guys are looking forward to the challenge."
