WHEELING, W.Va – The Wheeling Jesuit men's and women's Swim teams both came away with commanding home victories on senior day over tough opposition Washington and Jefferson College at the McDonough Center on Saturday.
The Cardinal Men took a win with a final score of 141½ -108, while the women won 147-114 in the local rivalry.
Before the meet began WJU's six seniors,

Evan Walker,
Paige Carpenetti,
Meghan Ebbert, and
Kelci Rullo were honored for their hard work and dedication to Coach Meyers' program.
"I'm really happy to have both teams win on senior day." Said WJU head coach Mike Myers. "These seniors put in years of hard work in and out of the pool so I'm glad we won today for them and their families."
The women's team started off impressively. Sophomore
Vanessa Gipson set a new pool record with a time of 18:22.15 in the Women's 1650-yard freestyle.
That strong early performance by Gipson carried on to stronger individual performances. Senior Megan Ebbert shined on senior day winning three individual races. The women's team won 10 individual races overall as well as both relays.
The Men's team also had an impressive day in the pool. Sophomore Kuba Skrzypczak set a new pool record with a time of 4:12.34 in the 400IM. Skrypczak also won the Men's 50 Yard Backstroke. The Men's team won 11 individual races over as well as both relays.
The Cardinals return to the pool on February 12
th with a championship on their minds when they travel to the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championship in Christiansburg, VA.
