Jesuit Volleyball Tames Mountain Lions

Box Score ATHENS, W.Va. - The WJU volleyball team set off to Athens, West Virginia to face Concord University in the first match of their eight game road stand on Tuesday, coming out with a solid 3-0 victory over the Mountain Lions.
 
The win stretches the Cardinals win streak to 23 straight matches (24-3 overall), and keeps them perfect in Mountain East Conference play at 11-0. WJU has also played 19 straight sets without a loss, winning their last 6 games 3-0.
 
Wheeling Jesuit went about their business against Concord in workman like fashion. In the first set the Mountain Lions kept things tight until about halfway through. The Cardinals then went on a 13-3 run to take the first set 25-14
 
In the second set, Concord edged a slight 13-14 lead over the Cardinals before WJU switched on the attack and rattled off 12 straight points, eventually leading to a 25-15 victory.
 
By that point in the match WJU was rolling wit confidence and went on to take the third set 25-10.
 
WJU was led in the stats column by freshman Kayce Krucki (Findlay, Ohio) who tallied a team high 17 kills and 13 digs. Madison Strall, the sophomore from Toledo, Ohio guided the Cardinal attack with 18 assists.
 
WJU now heads to Lewis University in Chicago, Ill. where they will face Rockhurst University (Kansas City, MO) and Lewis in a round robin on 11/2.
