Jesuit Volleyball Tops the Bobcats

Box Score WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Jesuit Volleyball team rolled to its 18th straight win on Saturday with a 3-0 whitewash of the Mountain East's 3rd place team, West Virginia Wesleyan.
 
With the win the Cardinals improve to 19-3 on the season and a perfect 7-0 in Mountain East play, good enough for a first place standing in the conference.
 
WJU was once again led by a solid core of experienced leaders and an exciting group of freshmen.
 
Jenna Pew (Marshallville, Ohio) remained a constant threat for the Cardinals, tallying up nine kills, two aces, and two blocks. Pew also led WJU in assists with 15 and put in a solid defensive effort with six digs as well. Thus far on the season, Pew has totaled a team high 218 kills.
 
Also putting in a solid day at the office were Hayley Kindall (Westerville, Ohio) and Emma Schleucher (Findlay, Ohio) who had eight and 7 kills respectively.
 
Defensively, Makenzie Ripley (Dennison, Ohio) was hard to get by, racking up 25 digs for the Cardinals.
 
The wheels keep turning for the Cardinals as they enter the last quarter of their season against Clarion University on October 22nd at 7pm in the Alma Grace McDonough Center.
