Six Cardinals Find the Frame in Cardinals First Win

Box Score VIENNA, W.V.---The Wheeling Jesuit women's soccer team (1-5-1, 1-2) found the net early and often, recording their first win on the road against Ohio Valley University (1-4) on Monday evening. Six Cardinals touched the back of the net en route to the 7-0 WVIAC victory.
 
Jesuit dominated possession, firing 28 shots compared to the Fighting Scots three attempts. In the 3rd minute, WJU opened the scoring when Olivia Vanhoose found Jessie Vilkofsky for the Cardinals first goal. The Cardinals placed a second shot through the frame in the 25th minute as Aliya Kureishy buried a pass from Ashley McGinnis, and the Cardinals held a 2-0 halftime advantage.
 
After the break, Jesuit's offense was firing on all cylinders, scoring five second-half goals. Vilkofsky recorded the first goal just 1:10 into the period, and Jenna Klemkowski earned the assist. McGinnis increased the lead to 4-0 with assistance Caroline Gacka, while Klemkowski connected on penalty kick. In the 82nd minute, Hutchinson netted the sixth goal which was assisted by Brittany DiCapio, and Gacka rounded out the scoring in the 90th minute on a penalty kick.
 
Cardinal goalkeeper Holly Kraus had one save in the shutout win.
 
The Cardinals will be back in action on Sunday, September 23 against the University of Pitt-Johnstown. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
