The Wheeling University Men's Golf team are set to get their last regular season event underway this week from Bedford Springs Resort, PA, as they compete in the Pitt-Johnstown Bedford Springs Invitational. The Cardinals currently rank #12 in the region going into the last regular season event, with the top 13 teams qualifying for the NCAA Atlantic/East regionals.

Zak Collins was a standout performer for Wheeling last time out at the Cecil C. Spadafora IUP Invitational, as he took home a 3rd place finish in what was one of the strongest fields of the season. This was the sophomores second top 10 finish in a row, and will be a strong asset for Wheeling as the postseason approaches.

Graduate students Sean Dobson and Troy Loughry both were short of their best in Indiana but, despite both struggling on the fast greens, fought hard until the end to produce finishes of 32nd and 28th respectively. Federico Cobos Kallman and Luke Wennberg rounded out the scoring for Wheeling, both finishing in a tie for 69th.

Wheeling finished the IUP Invitational in 9th place out of 13 teams, dropping them one rank in the region from #11 to #12. Wheeling has all but officially locked up their place in the regional championship, but a win this week would be invaluable to the confidence of the Cardinals as they attempt to overwrite a tough week down in Indiana.
