Kent, OH – The Wheeling University men's and women's track and field team got the second and final day of the Doug Raymond Invitational underway today in a meet that tested their talents against a host of the region's best.

First up this morning was the shot put, which saw Wheeling's Autumn Kerchner, Amber Yoho, and Fenne Sienaert turn in competitive throws for the Cardinals. Sienaert posted a throw of 9.31 meters to place 26th, while Yoho and Kerchner recorded throws of 9.05 and 8.92 meters to finish 27th and 28th, respectively. Next up for the Lady Cards this afternoon was Jade Trowell, who produced a strong time of 2:22.71 in the 800 meters to earn 17th place in a competitive field of 40 runners.

The quartet sent to compete for the men consisted of Erick Berroa, Kris Vigars, Reddick Moore, and Tyler Crook. The Cardinals were split between events, with Berroa and Vigars competing in the 400 meters, while Moore and Crook took on the 800. In the 400, Berroa and Vigars recorded times of 52.35 and 53.56 to place 25th and 32nd, respectively. Moore and Crook ran times of 2:14.00 and 2:16.91 in the 800 meters, finishing 43rd and 46th.

The Wheeling University track and field team will return to action on February 14 when they travel to Geneva, Ohio, for the Spire Indoor Collegiate Games.
