The 2026 MEC Indoor Track and Field championship concluded today in Huntington, West Virginia as the Lady Cardinals took 10th in the conference with many positives to note, as another Cardinal took home all-MEC honours.
The performance of the day for Wheeling came from freshman Autumn King, who competed in the high jump. The freshman set a career best today of 1.60m to place 3rd in the conference, taking home Honorable Mention all-MEC honors in what has been a very impressive first season.
Madison Conrad would pick up 2 events today, those being the 1 mile and 800m. Conrad ran alongside her teammate Jade Trowell in the 800m, where they both finished 14th and 15th respectively, running times of 2:31.63 and 2:40.70. In the mile, Conrad ran a time of 5:31.00 to place 15th in the conference.
Today marks an end to the 2025-26 Indoor Track and Field season for the Wheeling University Women's Track and Field team, wrapping up a season highlighted by many impressive performances and setting foundations for further success next season.
