PR's Fly as Women's Indoor Track & Field Wraps up YSU Mid Major

Youngstown, OH – The Wheeling University Women's Track and Field team got their second day of the YSU Mid-Major Invitational underway today, with a host of PBs being set across the team in a highly competitive meet.

First up for the Cardinals in the Field events this morning was Fenne Stewart, who recorded a PR of 9.86m in the Shot Put, placing 29th overall for Wheeling in a densely packed field. Next up for wheeling was Autumn King and Autumn Kerchner, both competing in the High Jump. Participating in the seeded field, Autumn King set a PR at a height of 1.58m, which earned her 7th overall. Autumn Kerchner would also place 7th , this time in the unseeded field, with a jump of 1.45m.

Moving onto the running events, Madison Conrad was first up for Wheeling competing in the 400m, where the Junior ran a PR of 1:04.14 which was good enough for 44th place. Next up for Wheeling was the 800m, where freshman Jade Trowell ran a time of 2:26.11 to place 24th in a packed field of 85. Rounding out the day for the Lady Cardinals was Lucinda Banks competing in the 3000m. The 4th and final PR of the day would come from Lucinda, with the freshman running a time of 12:11.39 to place 53rd and put day two of the YSU Mid-Major Invitational in the books.

The Wheeling Women's Track and Field team returns to action on Friday, 6th February when they travel to Kent, Ohio to compete in the Doug Raymond Invitational.
