Cardinals Return to Action Against Cavaliers

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – After a week off, the Wheeling Jesuit men's lacrosse team returns to action on the road Saturday at Walsh University.

It will be a clash of two teams seeking the start of a strong end of the season. Both the Cardinals and Cavaliers enter the weekend match with identical 1-7 marks, but both teams have not been far from winning records. Each team has been edged by four opponents this season, including Molloy winning by two goals over both squads.

WJU comes off an 8-6 defeat at the University of Indianapolis on March 19. The Cardinals take a three-match losing streak into Saturday, but four losses have been by two goals or less.

Walsh dropped a Tuesday, March 28, decision to Lake Erie College by an 8-1 margin. The Cavaliers posted their lone victory last weekend, March 25, with a 12-9 final over Alderson Broaddus.

Along with losing close matches to Molloy, both WJU and Walsh have fallen to Mercyhurst – 11-6 by the Cardinals and 15-5 by the Cavaliers – as the other common opponent to this point.
