WJU Falls in Doubleheader to Kentucky Wesleyan

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Wheeling Jesuit baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Kentucky Wesleyan on Tuesday. WJU fell 9-1 in the first game and 9-0 in the second game.

Game 1:
Kentucky Wesleyan scored a run in the first before the Cardinals would tie the game at one apiece in the top half of the second. In the bottom half of the third frame, Kentucky Wesleyan erupted for seven more runs. The final run crossed the plate in the fourth inning.

Benjamin Standiford took the loss, throwing three innings and striking out one. Brock Wenger hurled two innings while Nick Luciano threw one.

Dalton Davis finished with a double while RJ Harris added an RBI-triple. Adam Dennison finished with a single.

Game 2:
Kentucky Wesleyan scored one in the first, two in the fourth, four in the fifth, and one in the sixth and seventh innings, winning 9-0.

Tanner Evans was tagged with the loss, throwing 5.1 innings and allowing seven runs, four of which were earned. Four Cardinals finished with singles - Drake May, RJ Harris, Jeffrey Patrick, and Matthew Angelini.
