DANBURY, Conn. – After winning 16 of 19 face-offs versus Davis and Elkins last week, Evan Hodel of the men's lacrosse team has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Specialist of the Week.
Hodel led the Cardinals in their lone contest of last week, a 33-3 victory over Davis and Elkins College. The senior midfielder finished 16-19 on face-offs and secured a team best 10 groundballs. Hodel also dished out one assist on the evening.
On the season, Hodel leads WJU with 102 face-offs won and 45 groundballs. He has finished with five or more groundballs four times this season, and has won eight or more face-offs eight times.
Hodel and the WJU lacrosse team return to action on Saturday, April 16 against Alderson Broaddus University. The contest is slated to begin at 1 p.m. in Wheeling, West Virginia.
