Cardinals Edged by Panthers

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – In the final game of the weekend series, the Wheeling Jesuit baseball team fell to Ohio Dominican, 4-0, in a nine inning contest.

Joe San Felippo held the Panthers scoreless for the first two innings before they scored a run in the bottom of the third to take a 1-0 advantage.

Ohio Dominican scored two more runs in the sixth and one run in the seventh to claim the 4-0 victory.

San Felippo charted 5.2 innings. The junior struck out five Panthers while walking one.

Dillon Sunnafrank relieved San Felippo and hurled the last 7 outs for the Cardinals. He struck out two opposing hitters.  

WJU finished with two base hits. Christopher Brake singled in the top of the third before San Felippo reached safely in the fourth on a single of his own.

WJU was unable to drive in either baserunner, and fell to Ohio Dominican, 4-0.

The Cardinals begin their spring training trip in Winterhaven, Florida on February 28. WJU opens the trip with a doubleheader against Adelphi University at 11:00 a.m. The Cardinals also go head-to-head West Virginia Wesleyan, Gannon, Tiffin, and Findlay while in Florida.
