Box Score 4 Wheeling, W.Va. - The sun was shining on a beautiful weekend for the Cardinals first home series of the season. The Cardinals bested the Glenville Pioneers in the series 3-1, with not one, not two, but three, walk-off's and solid pitching.
In game one on Saturday, Senior
Antonio Acierno pitched a complete game giving up 5 hits while striking out 6, leading the Cards to the first victory of the series. Sophomore
Joe San Felippo lifted the Cards early with a Homerun driving in 2 runs. Junior
Brock McGivern turned in a solid day at the plate going 2-3 with 2 RBI. The hero of the game came in the form of a bases loaded hit by pitch for Freshman
Logan Schickler.
Game two on Saturday, despite a dominant pitching performance by Junior
Justin Fritts who pitched 6 and 1/3 innings, giving up 5 hits and striking out 8, the Cards lost to the Pioneers 3-2. Junior
Brock McGivern and Senior
Patrick Ammar each went 2-2 at the plate.
In game one on Sunday Sophomore
Benjamin Standiford, Senior
Josh Kernik, and Sophomore
Dillon Sunnafrank (Win) combined to secure another win for the Cardinals. Senior

Christopher Brake all pitched in at the plate going 2-4. Senior
Tyler Kowalczyk delivered a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the 8th inning driving in the winning run in the first of two walk-off's on the day.
Game two turned in another strong pitching performance by Sophomore
Joe San Felippo who gave up 4 hits and fanned 4 Pioneers over six innings of work. However, it was once again Sophomore
Dillon Sunnafrank closing out the game and earning his second win of the day. Following the theme of the weekend Freshman
Logan Schickler tallied his first collegiate hit while delivering his second walk-off on the weekend and the third of the series.
The Cardinals will host Urbana at home on Tuesday, March 24 starting at 3:00 p.m..
