Box Score Tigerville, S.C. – The Men's Lacrosse team went south on Spring Break Friday morning. The Cardinals took on the North Greenville University Crusaders Saturday evening in Pepsi Stadium. Despite a slow start, nine different Cardinal players scored a goal in the game as Wheeling Jesuit defeated North Greenville 19-9.
Freshman
Matt Lee scored WJU's sole goal of the first period at the 0:30 mark. Jesuit trailed 3-1 after the first period.
The Crusaders scored the first three goals of the second period to go up 6-1. Wheeling Jesuit then scored 16 unanswered goals to break the game wide open for the Cardinals.
Jesuit led 7-6 at the half and 15-6 at the end of the third period.

Dereck Downs and senior attack
Duston Doudelet each had four goals on five attempted shots to lead the Cardinals. Downs also had one assist in the victory. Both Downs and Doudelet have 10 goals and one assist this season in three games.

Matt Lee added three goals and an assist. After three games, Lee has nine goals and four assists for 13 points. Lee's shot percentage is .474 on the young 2015 season.

McLean Fitzmartin had two goals and an assist. Senior midfield

Sam Horning, senior attack Tyler Wicket, and junior midfield
Evan Hodel each had a goal to propel Jesuit Lacrosse to a 10-point victory.
Freshman goalie
Jake Lilly faced 18 shots, made 8 saves, and gave up seven goals in 59:15 of play. Lilly got the decision and is now 2-1 this season in goal. Freshman goalie Colin Smith faced three shots, had one save, and gave up two goals in 6:15 of play.
The victory improves the overall record of Jesuit Men's Lacrosse to 2-1. The Cardinals return to action on Tuesday March 3
rd when they continue their Spring break trip to Banner Elk, SC to take on the Lees-McRae College Bobcats at 4pm.
