Box Score Wheeling, WVa. – Wheeling Jesuit Volleyball hosted Point Park University in the third match of the tri-match on Saturday at 5pm.
Playing in their third game in two days, the Cardinals showed no signs of tiring and beat Point Park University in the first set 25-7. Jesuit finished the set with a team hitting percentage of 50% to the Pioneers negative 6%.
Through two sets, Jesuit was led by the trio of junior outside
Jessica Thobe, sophomore outside
Kayce Krucki, and sophomore middle
Emma Schleucher. Thobe had 10 kills and seven digs, Krucki added seven kills and 16 digs, and Schleucher led all players with a .438 hitting percentage on seven kills, two service aces, three digs, and two block assists. Wheeling Jesuit took the second set 25-16.
The Cardinals finished off the Pioneers in the third set 25-14. Schleucher stood above the rest with 11 kills, a .524 hitting percentage, three service aces, five digs, and three block assists for a total of 16.5 points. Sophomore setter
Andrea Thobe turned in another strong performance with 37 assists, 11 digs, and one block assist. Defensive specialist
Makenzie Ripley had 15 digs from the back line.
"Gaining two wins in conference and a win over a very good NAIA team shows continued progress for our team. Our team chemistry was very strong regardless of the personnel combinations all weekend long," stated Head Coach

The Cardinals return to volleyball action next Friday September 26
th at 6:00 p.m. when they will host the Mountain Lions of Concord University in another MEC matchup.
