Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

WHEELING, W.Va. – Two-sport standout Justin Fritts flirted with a no-hitter in game two of the Wheeling Jesuit, Notre Dame College weekend series, but the left hander couldn't prevent WJU from dropping both games of Saturday's double header, 1-6 and 0-1.

The pair of losses puts WJU at 12-14 on the season overall and 12-10 in the Mountain East, dropping them into 7th place in the conference standings.

The Cardinals suffered a slow start in game one against the Falcons, letting in five runs in the first two innings.

Logan Hudson opened up the game for the Cardinals on the mound, and picked up the loss allowing six runs in on four hits.

The only Cardinal run of the whole day came in the third inning when Dillon Sunnafrank grounded to the Falcon short stop but ran out the throw allowing Anthony Connacher to score.

In game two, Justin Fritts did everything he could to give the Cardinals the win, striking out 11 batters and not giving up a hit until the 7th inning.

The only Falcon run came in the second inning when Joe San Fellipo committed an error at shot stop allowing Jared Clovis to score, unearned.

The Cardinals return to action on Sunday at 1:00 when they will look to take two games back from the Falcons.
