Box Score Wheeling, W.Va.-- On a bitter, sunny day the Wheeling Jesuit University Men's Soccer team played host to the ECAC Tournament.  In the first semi-final, the #2 Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit took on the #3 Salem International University Tigers. 

The Cardinals started out with a bang scoring in the 9^th minute, when Luke Roan flicked a pass to an on running Jordan Frommeyer, who buried his shot past the keeper on the near post.  Wheeling Jesuit University dominated the play for the next 20 minutes, but failed to capitalize on opportunities.

In the 34^th minute, the Tigers equalized as Tomas Szabo collected a loose ball at the top of the 18 yard box and bent it to the back post beating Cardinal Goalkeeper Cody Thompson.  

Just before half, the Tigers struck again on a quick restart as Mohammed Ali Khalaf played the ball to Mohamed Bakayoko who buried a shot off the near post.  The score heading into the break was 2-1 in favor of the Tigers. 

The second half started very heated and very physical, as both teams battled hard for every ball.  In the 58^th minute, Tomas Szarbo scored his second of the match off a free kick taken by Michael Branton.

The Cardinals continued to push back, attacking more direct the last 30 minutes.  Finally, in the 82^nd minute Luke Roan collected a ball at the top corner of the 18 yard box and finished a curling shot into the back post making the score 3-2. 
In the dying minutes, the Cardinals created several more dangerous opportunities but could not find the equalizer.  The final score to the game was 3-2 in favor of the Salem International University Tigers.

The Tigers move onto the ECAC Tournament Final Sunday November 16th.  They await the winner of the second semi-final between #1 Seton Hill and #4 Post University.  Kick off time is 12:00pm on Bishop Schmitt Field.
