Battlers Take Game One of a Three Game Series, 4-1

Box Score WHEELING, W.Va.---The Wheeling Jesuit baseball team fell 4-1 to Alderson-Broaddus College on Friday at the J.B. Chambers I-470 Complex. Jesuit moved to 6-17 overall and 3-9 in WVIAC play while AB improved to 12-9 overall and 7-6 in league play.
 
AB started the scoring in the second inning when three consecutive singles plated a run. The Battlers added three runs in the sixth inning after a fielding WJU fielding error extended the inning. The Battlers followed with a single and two doubles for a 4-0 advantage. The Cardinals plated a run in the eighth inning as Jordan Kraus led-off with a tripleand Cory Wickham followed with a RBI groundout to second base.
 
WJU pitcher, Parker Lang, threw six innings, allowing nine hits and one earned run with one walk and six strikeouts.
 
Wheeling Jesuit scattered eight hits as Kraus, Robbie Davia and Corey Hull had two hits each. Wickham and Patrick Ammar added singles.
 
The Cardinals will finish the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 30 at the J.B. Chambers I-470 Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
