Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Cardinal Men's Basketball team took to the road once again on Saturday to take on the Falcons of Notre Dame College coming back to Wheeling with a solid 85 – 73 victory.
A big first half shooting 56 percent from the floor, and 45 combined points from standouts
Eric Siefert and
Justin Fritts were enough to see WJU improve their record to 5-2 on the season, and go to 3-1 in the Mountain East.
Justin Fritts set the pace in the first half with 13 points on 5-8 from the field, four assists and three steals. In the second stanza Fritts added eight more points for a personal haul of 21,
Siefert led the Cardinals in scoring with 24 on the night, controlling the tempo and going 4-6 from behind the arc.
The WJU bench added 15 points, led by
Chase Lawson who went 3-4 on threes for 9 points
The Cardinals now head into their winter break sitting in 3
rd place in the Mountain East conference behind West Liberty and Shepherd. They return to action on January 5
th at home against the University of Virginia Wise, followed by another home game against Concord on the 6
th. Tipoff against UV-Wise is set for 4pm, and against Concord at 6pm, both at the McDonough Center.
