Box Score ERIE, Penn. - The Wheeling Jesuit Men's Basketball shot a lights-out 62 percent from the floor to take a big victory over fellow Jesuit institution, LeMoyne College, and claim the 30
th Annual Gary Miller Classic Championship with a convincing 98-85 victory.
Eric Siefert, the 6' 4" sophomore out of Reynoldsburgh, Ohio took home the Tournament MVP award, playing an excellent tournament at guard with 13 assists on the weekend, and scoring 13 points against the LeMoyne Dolphins, and 16 points on Friday against Alderson-Broaddus.
Justin Fritts, the sophomore Guard from Mentor, Ohio had a big tournament as well, scoring 23 points for the Cardinals against LeMoyne, and 25 points against Alderson-Broaddus to earn a place on the All-Tournament team.
Also having a big game against the Dolphins were WJU standouts
Andre Harris who drained 21 points, and freshman Forward
Kyle Ritz who had a breakout game for the Cardinals, coming off the bench for 16 points and a team-leading 7 rebounds.
For LeMoyne, Nate Champion played like a champion for the Dolphins, leading all scorers in the game with 28 points, going 11-25 from the floor.
The Cardinals started strong in the first half, eventually taking a 47-41 lead into the break, shooting 59 percent from the floor.
Kyle Ritz subbed in to add 10 points and lead all WJU scorers in the period, going 4-4 from the floor and 2-2 from the free throw line.
Andre Harris drained a key three-pointer to close out the first half to put the momentum squarely in the Cardinals court going into the break.

Eric Siefert each chipped in with 6 points each in the first period with Siefert dishing out six assists.
The second half was never really in doubt for the Cardinals, who led by as many as 19 with 8 minutes to play. Fritts added 17 points after the break to lead WJU scorers.
The Cardinals also won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Dolphins 35-23, led by Ritz with 7, and Matt Steward who had 5 bords.
"Execution was the key tonight for us," said WJU head coach Danny Sancomb. "The guys went out and did everything we asked them to. They played hard and beat a very good basketball team, so we're very happy. We hustled on defense, and we battled on the rebounds. We know we have to get better, but this is a real positive mental win for the guys."
The match with LeMoyne marked the first time the two Jesuit institutions have played each other.
WJU next faces Urbana on the road on December 5
th in a Mountain East Conference matchup.
