Cards Fall Apart In The 3rd Period

WHEELING, W.Va.---The Cardinals hockey team was at full strength for the first time this season. In the first period, they showed what they could do. Playing against California University of Pennsylvania's second team, which was first in their league, Wheeling Jesuit took a 3-2 lead early in the game.

Goals by AJ Games and Kevin Figaniak shifted the momentum in the Cardinals' favor. The second period saw Cal U match their first period total and shutout Wheeling Jesuit to take a 4-3 lead into the third. Halfway through the third, were only down by one and had a chance to tie the game after Andrew Wilson scored to make the game 5-4. However, Cal U unloaded 5 goals in the last 10 minutes to put the game away. It was a disappointing end to a promising start.
