Cards Win Wild One At Marshall

WHEELING, W.Va.---This past Friday, the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals hockey team played Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.

The first period featured most of the action as Marshall staked itself to a 3-0 lead in the first seven minutes. However, the Cards roared back in the last ten of the first to take a 6-4 lead into the first intermission. The game settled down in the second period.

Marshall was able to cut the lead to one and make for an interesting third period. The score going into the second intermission was 7-6. The third period was back and forth, but did not see any change in the score for the first thirteen minutes. Around the seven minute mark, Marshall was able to tie the game. Momentum seemed to be on their side as the third period was winding down. Andrew Bozimowski delivered some late game heroics for the Cards when he put a shot from the point in the back of the net to shift the momentum back in the Cards favor.

Wheeling Jesuit was able to hold on to the win for their second of the year. Anthony Schiarelli was the star of the game with two goals.
