Box Score PHILIPPI, W.Va.----The Wheeling Jesuit men's soccer team improved to 5-1 in WVIAC play and 8-4 overall with a 3-2 overtime win against Alderson-Broaddus College (3-6, 1-3 WVIAC) on Saturday afternoon. WJU's
Dominic Welsh buried the game-winner in the 98
th minute, and teammate
J.J. Hawkshaw was credited with the assist.
Alderson-Broaddus started the scoring in the 25
th minute as Pat Kelly connected with the back of the net. The Battlers held the 1-0 advantage through the halftime period and deep into the second half. Shots were even at the break as the Cardinals and the Battlers attempted six apiece, however, Jesuit held a 6-0 advantage in corner kick attempts.
The relentless Jesuit offensive attack continued in the second half, as WJU fired nine shots compared to AB's two. The Cardinals earned three additional corner kick attempts and did not allow the home squad a chance at a set shot.

Carlos Avila, who connected with the equalizer. Three minutes later, Jesuit took a 2-1 advantage when
Ignacio Fernandez picked-up a rebound and fired the shot into the corner of the net.
Following a Jesuit foul, the Battlers tied the match on a free kick from the corner of the box with under four mintues remaing in regulation which eventually forced the overtime period.
In overtime, the Cardinals continued to dominate posession time, earning two corner kicks and only needing one shot to end the match.
Wheeling Jesuit will travel to Erie, Pa. for an Atlantic Region battle with Gannon University on Tuesday, October 9 at 7 p.m.
