Senior discus thrower Jacob Mines earned the MEC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week honor.
 
The Hurricane, W. Va., native heaved a Cardinal record 48.44 meters in his second discus throw attempt. Mines throw garnered him sixth place overall at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational last Saturday.
