The Wheeling University Men's Soccer team return to Bishop Schmitt Field tomorrow, Wednesday October 14th, as they welcome #5 Davis & Elkins College. The Cardinals are coming into the game in their best run of form in recent years, as they have won three of their last four games, all in MEC play.

It was a dominant attacking display last time out against Salem, with four second half goals propelling the Cardinals to a flawless 4-0 win that earned Luis Yanes and Alberto Madail MEC player of the week honors. Luis Yanes grabbed two goals on the afternoon, whilst Madail held a clean sheet with four saves. Also on the scoresheet Sunday was Javier Ramos and Alonzo Martinez, with Martinez taking his first of the 2026 season.

Tomorrow's opponents Davis & Elkins are having a dominant MEC season thus far in 2026, holding a 9-1-1 record and the number five spot in the country as the MEC Tournament nears. The Senators knocked down another top ten team in Charleston just a few weeks ago, with their only loss coming from Concord two games ago on October 4th. The Cardinals head into the game with 11 wins, 17 losses, and four ties in 32 previous meetings with the Senators, with their home record 5-10. Wheeling haven't prevailed against Davis and Elkins since 2011, and not at home since 2010, but coming in with top form, the Cardinals will have their best chance in recent years to take something from the Senators. Not to mention that the Senators are coming into the game just two weeks removed from a home loss, the Cardinals will be looking to pounce and use their form going forward to frustrate Davis & Elkins tomorrow.

The Wheeling Men's Soccer Team will kick off against Davis & Elkins from Bishop Schmitt Field tomorrow evening at 7pm.
