Wheeling, W. Va. - The Wheeling University Women's Basketball team is coming off a season that saw them pick up their highest seeding in the MEC Tournament since the 2021 tournament. On Sunday, June 1st, the team will be passing that knowledge to the next generation of college athletes with their Elite Camp. The camp is open to athletes heading into Grades 9-12 and you can register now by clicking HERE.
"We are excited to welcome so many great players to campus for our Elite Camp this season," said Wheeling University Head Women's Basketball Coach Anna Kowalska. "It will be a chance to see some great players on the court while helping them refine and hone their skills so they can see what to expect in college basketball."
The day will begin with registration at 9 AM inside the Alma Grace McDonough Center. After they sign-up, players will get the chance to meet with Wheeling Women's Basketball players and staff before Head Coach Anna Kowalska addresses the group. The day will consist of both on-court skills showcases as well as film study and breakdown. There will be a film session where the campers will get to see what coaches are looking for on the court. Lunch will be provided to all campers in attendance before the atheltes get ready to take the court. On the court, the campers will go through drills and individual skills development led by Wheeling players and coaches. The day will then conclude with a scrimmage where the athletes will take all of the skills they learned and put them into real-game situations.
The camp is open to all girls basketball players entering Grades 9-12 and is designed to help prepare them for the college game. Registration is $100 per camper and you can pre-register by filling out the Wheeling Women's Basketball Elite Camp form. There is no deadline to sign-up, so register today for the chance to showcase your skills on the Alma Grace McDonough Center court.
The Wheeling Women's Basketball Elite camp will begin on Sunday, June 1st, and run from 9 AM to 3 PM.
