Farrow Wraps up Duke Invitational for the Sprinters

Durham, NC. - After the distance runners got the festivities started on Friday at the Duke Invitational, the Wheeling University Outdoor Track & Field team had their sprinters wrap up the festivities on Saturday. The Cardinals would compete in two events on the day, the Women's 100 and 200-Meter Dashes, wrapping up their final DI event of the season. With it being the final NCAA DI event of the season, the Cardinals top competitors are making their final push for the 2025 Mountain East Conference (MEC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

That runner was senior sprinter Shannon Farrow, who took on both races with some of the top runners from across the country. Her best run of the day would come in the 100-Meter Dash, where she finished 69th overall with a new PR of 12.72. It was .10 seconds faster than her previous PR, which she hit in each of the last two events, as she started the day off strong. She came back a few events later for the 200-Meter Dash and continued her strong showing. She would finish 86th overall at the event, running a time of 27.39 seconds, finishing just .30 seconds off the pace of the next closest runner. It was a big day for Farrow as she got the chance to compete against the best runners, and set a new PR in the process.

The Wheeling University Outdoor Track & Field team returns to action on Friday, April 18th, when they take on the Otterbine Twilight in Westerville, Ohio.
