Wheeling, W. Va. - After getting things started on both the track and the field on Friday night, the Wheeling University Men's Indoor Track & Field team returned to action on Saturday for day two of the Judd Logan Invitational. It was another big day on the track for the Cardinals as they added another top 20 finish to their weekend, as they competed across six different events. Along with the top 20 finish, the Cardinals had several PR performances as they continue their road to the 2025 Mountain East Conference (MEC) Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The lone top 20 finish of the day for the Cardinals came in the 60-Meter Dash courtesy of sophomore Jan Wray. Wray, who picked up a top 20 finish in the 200-Yard Dash the night before, added a second top 20 finish to his weekend, finishing 18th in the 60-Meter Dash with a time of 7.19 seconds. He would run in the first heat of the day and finished .02 seconds behind his performance from the YSU Mid Major. Wray was one of five Cardinals to compete in the event, with Erick Berroa, Alonso Martinez Najera, Kabwe Bwalya, and Davonte Courtney all competing. Berroa would finish 65th (7.72), Najera took 68th (7.76), Bwalya took 70th (7.78), and Courtney took 72nd (7.88) to round out the event.
Bwalya would also compete in the field events on the day, taking part in both the Men's Long Jump and Men's High Jump to round out the jumping events. His top finish came in the Men's Long Jump, where he finished 36th with a distance of 5.91 meters. He would follow that up in the High Jump, tying his PR with a height of 1.75 meters, to finish 41st overall. The final field event of the day would be the Men's Shot Put, where Tristen Tuttle would round out the day with a new PR. Tuttle would finish 48th overall with a distance of 12.14 meters, beating his previous PR by just over a meter as he continues to grow in the event.
The final events of the day would be the distance events, with Shane Levesque and Magnus Polkner taking on the Men's 1 Mile and 800-Meter. Both runners would compete in both events, with Levesque leading the 800-Meter, finishing 66th with a time of 2:01.85, while Polkner finished 71st with a time of 2:02.45. In the Men's 1 Mile, Levesque would once again lead the way for the Cardinals, taking 49th with a time of 4:35.12 while Polkner took 56th with a time of 4:44.04 to round out the event.
