Kent, O.H- The Wheeling University Men's Indoor Track & Field team completed day two of the Doug Raymond Invitational. The Cardinals were able to secure seven top 15 finishes on the day, including two placements in the top 10.
Shane Levesque got day two started with a strong performance for the Cardinals. He would place 8th in the 1 Mile run, completing the journey in 4:30.85. Wheeling continued to soar in the Triple Jump. Kabwe Bwayla represented Wheeling proudly by jumping 14.05 meters, which was good enough for 6th place, the best showing of the day.
The Shot Put was the next event on the docket with Tristan Tuttle as he threw it 11.89 meters to take the 12th place spot. Next up was the 60 Dash where three Cardinals competed amongst the rest: Jan Wray, Davonte Courtney, and Alonso Martinez Najera. Within the trio, Wray finished the highest at 11th with a time of 7.17 seconds. It was close, but Courtney slightly beat out Martinez Najera for 16th by a millisecond (7.75) while the other placed 17th (7.76). Day two ended with the 400 Dash with Khalid Mulazim representing the red-and-black. He finished 18th with a time of 59.56 seconds.
The Wheeling University Men's Track & Field team has completed their indoor regular season with the conclusion of the Doug Raymond Invitational. Their next venture will be to Huntington, West Virginia to compete in the Mountain East Conference Championships on February 23rd-24th, 2025.
