Top Three Finishes Highlight Final Last Chance Meet

Hickory, NC. – It was the final Last Chance Meet of the year for the Wheeling University Men's Outdoor Track & Field team as they made their way down to the Lenoir-Rhyne Last Chance Meet. The Cardinals would compete in three different events between two different athletes and brought home top three finishes in all three of their showings. It was the final showing before the NCAA DII National Championships as the Cardinals tried to secure their spots.

Leading the way for the second straight Last Chance meet was Moses Koroma, who competed in both the 110 and 400-Meter Hurdles. He would start the day in the 110-Meter Hurdle qualifiers, where he got off to another strong start. He would end up winning the qualifying event, running a time of 14.18 seconds, giving him the top mark in the field heading into the finals. He would come back in the finals as one of the favorites to win the event. He would end up taking third in the field, running a time of 14.21 seconds, as he picked up his second top three finish of the week on the event. He would come back for his final event in the 400-Meter Hurdles and picked up his best finish of the day. He would take second in the event, running a time of 53.31 to finish second in the event, and finish just .04 seconds behind the Provo Mark and 0.40 seconds behind his season best of 52.91 seconds.

The final competitor for the Cardinals was Ibrahim Fall, who competed in the 200-Meter Dash. He wouS finish third in the field with a time of 21.77 seconds, finishing just .23 seconds behind his season best. Fall is trying to qualify for the finals for the first time in his career and he is hoping this last push will help out him over the top.

The Wheeling University Men's Outdoor Track & Field team will now await to see who qualifies for the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
