Frostburg, MD. – The final day of the 2024 Mountain East Conference (MEC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships played out on Tuesday from Frostburg State University. It was the final day for the track events and the Cardinals would finish fifth in the field of 10 teams. The Cardinals crowned their two individual MEC Champions of the tournament as the hurdles and mid-distance events led the way.
The first individual title came in the 400-Meter Dash, where
Joshua Boehm competed after winning the prelims the day before. Boehm would pick yo the win in the finals, setting a new PR with a time of 47.73 seconds to claim his first career MEC title. It was the first of two events for Boehm as he also ran in the 200-Meter Dash. Boehm would take 6th in the event with a time of 21.80 seconds, while the Cardinals were led by
Ibrahim Fall, who placed 4th with a time of 21.63 seconds. The final win of the day came in the 400-Meter Hurdles where
Moses Koroma claimed his first title of the day. He ran a time of 52.91 seconds, winning the event by .02 seconds over the University of Charleston's Damian Smith. It was the start of a big day for the hurdler group as they continued their success into the sprint events.
Koroma was joined by
Damian Jackson in the 110-Meter Hurdles, as the Cardinals took two of the top three spots. Koroma would lead the way, taking 2nd with a time of 14.52, while
Damian Jackson took third with a time of 14.68. The sprinting events would wrap up with the 100-Meter Dash as
Calvin Blunt competed and took seventh with a time of 11.01 seconds. The distance events would round out the individual events on the day, as Izaiah Browning took on the Men's 1500 Meter. He would finish 13th in the field with a time of 4:15.01.
The final events of the day were the relays as the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays ran. The 4x100 Meter Relay team of
Ibrahim Fall,
Joshua Boehm,
Damian Jackson, and
Moses Koroma. The foursome finished fourth with a time of 41.41 to kick-off the third day of competition. The 4x400 Meter Relay team would be the final competition of day three of competition as
Hunter Tomich,
Joshua Boehm,
Jordan Edwards, and
Ibrahim Fall competed. They took seventh with a time of 3:26.59 as they rounded out the final day of competition.
