Columbus, OH. – The Jesse Owens Classic came to an end at Ohio State University on Saturday as three more Cardinals competed against top competition. It was the hurdlers and the jumpers who took center stage on day two as the Cardinals picked up all top 20 finishes across their three events. It was a big way to wrap up the 2024 regular season, as the teams has their sights set on the 2024 Mountain East Conference (MEC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Leading the way for the Cardinals was Moses Koroma, who was the top individual placer on the day for the Cardinals and the lone top five finisher. He and teammate Damian Jackson would compete in the 110-Meter Hurdles, with Koroma taking sixth (14.51) and Jackson taking 10th (14.74). Koroma would come back in the finals later in the day and would drop .08 seconds off his time, running a 14.43 to finish fifth in the field. On the women's side, Isha Sesay would take on the 100-Meter Hurdles as she picked up the second top 20 finish of the day. Sesay would take 12th in the field, running a time of 14.62 to round out the day on the track.
The Cardinals competed in one field event on the day as senor Daimar Ivey competed in the Triple Jump. Ivey would round out the day with the third top 20 finish of the day, as he took 12th to round out the day. Ivey hit a distance of 12.86 meters to round out an impressive day for the Cardinals.
The Wheeling University Outdoor Track & Field team returns to action on Sunday, April 28th, when they compete on day one of the 2024 MEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
