Wheeling, W. Va. - On Friday, Wheeling University honored their students who showed academic excellence in the classroom with the release of the Fall 2021 Dean's List. The Wheeling University Athletic Department was well represented on the list, with 120 student-athletes making the list across the school's 19 varsity sports. 

To be a member of the Wheeling University Dean's list, a student must maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.5 or higher, while being enrolled as a full-time student by taking 12 or more credit hours. After the fall athletes were honored with the Commissioner's Honor Roll and the All-MEC Academic team last week, this list honors all student-athletes and their hard work in the classroom both in and out of their championship season. 

All 19 of Wheeling's sports teams were represented on the list, with the Wheeling University Football team leading the way with 29 athletes on the list. They were followed by Men's Soccer (14), Volleyball (14), Women's Basketball (13), Baseball (13), Women's Track & Field (11), and Women's Soccer (10) as sports with double digit athletes on the list. Softball (6), Men's Lacrosse (6), Rugby (4), Men's Basketball (4), Wrestling (4), Women's Swimming (4), Women's Cross Country (3), Women's Golf (3), Men's Cross Country (2), Men's Golf (2), Men's Track & Field (2), and Men's Swimming (2) round out the list. 

Wheeling University encourages its students to become well-rounded people both on the field and in the classroom through its three core values, Life, Leadership, and Service with and Among Others. These student-athletes put those values on display everyday, and are leaders among their peers and among their teams.
