WHEELING, W.Va. (April 30) - Due to the rainfall in the region on Thursday night, the Wheeling University baseball and softball teams have made changes to its schedules for this upcoming weekend.
The softball team has pushed its doubleheader against Notre Dame College from a 1 p.m. start to a 3 p.m. start today, Friday, April 30. In an announcement from the Mountain East Conference (MEC) earlier in the week, the Alderson Broaddus softball team has forfeited the remainder of its games, meaning the Cardinals and Battlers will not play their season finale series on Saturday, May 1 at the JB Chambers Complex. The games will count for Wheeling in the MEC Standings, but not affect the team's overall record.
The baseball team has pushed its doubleheader against Alderson Broaddus back to a series on Saturday and Sunday. The two team's were slated to play on Friday and Sunday to accommodate Wheeling's graduation ceremonies on Saturday, but those plans had to be changed due to the weather. The two teams will play on Saturday at 2 p.m.
