BECKLEY, W.Va. (March 26) - The Wheeling University women's soccer team was defeated 5-0 by defending league-champion Concord Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Wheeling kept the game scoreless with the help of six saves by goalkeeper Jaci Wilson (Rootstown, Ohio/St. Thomas Aquinas) through the first 40 minutes.
  • Concord scored twice right before halftime to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
  • The Mountain Lions put the game away in the first four minutes of the second half with two more goals to double up the lead to 4-0.
MATCH NOTES
  • Wilson made a season-high 16 saves, including 10 in the second half.
  • Concord out-shot Wheeling 36-to-3, including 21 shots on net.
