WHEELING, W.Va. (March 19) - The Wheeling University men's soccer team was dealt its second-straight two-overtime loss in a row with a 1-0 loss to Concord Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Wheeling looked poised to take the lead in the 18th-minutes when the Cardinals were awarded a penalty-kick, but Concord's goalkeeper came up with the stop to keep the match scoreless.
  • Wheeling out-shot Concord 8-to-2 in the first half, but the match remained scoreless after 45 minutes.
  • After a scoreless second half the contest headed into overtime.
  • Wheeling had scoring chances to win the game in the first overtime period.
  • The Cardinals had consecutive corner-kick attempts, but neither resulted in a goal.
  • Concord scored the game-winning goal off of a corner-kick in the 105th-minute when a ball was headed and barely crossed the end-line to bring the game to its conclusion.
