Women's soccer defeated in spring-opener at Fairmont State, 2-0

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (Feb. 26) - The Wheeling University women's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Fairmont State in its spring season-opener Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Falcons took the lead in the opening minute of the match and played the rest of the game with the lead.
  • The score remained 1-0 until the 56th-minute, when Fairmont State added an insurance marker to make the score 2-0.
MATCH NOTES
  • Freshman goalkeeper Jaci Wilson (Rootstown, Ohio/St. Thomas Aquinas) made 10 saves in her Cardinal-debut.
  • Fairmont State held a 21-to-4 edge in shot attempts. Kiera Kuzinski scored both goals for the Falcons.
