Wheeling University and everyone else playing a spring sport had their season cut short and included in that was Senior Day. So over the next few weeks, we want to take an opportunity to honor each of the seniors in baseball, softball, women's golf, women's lacrosse, rugby and men's and women's outdoor track and field.
Follow along and help us give this small token of appreciation for the years of work and dedication.

Activities:Â I have been a part of a lot throughout my four years. My most favorite activities that I've participated in were freshman and sophomore being on SGA Senate, junior year being CAB President, and all four years participating in the Ignatian Honors College.
What will you miss the most:Â I will miss my professors (former and current). I will also miss the fantastic staff who made me smile everyday no matter what. And I will of course miss softball, my teammates, and my coaches the most. We've had so much fun and created so many memories this year.
Favorite Wheeling memory:Â My favorite memory at Wheeling was when I was sick this fall and couldn't go to morning lifting. My lifting partner, Alisa, and I had a really good relationship and pushed each other every day to be better. When I returned from being sick, everyone said that Alisa was wondering around not knowing what to do because I wasn't there. This is my favorite memory because it's funny to picture the moment, but it also helps me remember that I had an impact on my teammates and that is all any senior can ever ask for.
Open Quote: Softball has been such a huge part in my life and having a senior season and day would've wrapped up my career perfectly (so I'd thought). Even though I didn't get to have that experience, the game of softball means so much more than batting averages, RBI's, or home runs. Coach Buck put together senior gifts for us in our exit meetings and included was a jar of notes from our teammates. Reading those notes helped me see that in the very short season we had, we were successful in every aspect. We bonded together like no team I have ever been on, and softball was once again a game I loved to play (even if that meant going to brutal conditioning workouts). I found joy for the game again this year and that's something I can be thankful for.
